Aoife joined our team in 2016 and her enthusiasm towards work and big heart have allowed her to fit right in with Team Treaty.
Aoife graduated as a Veterinary Nurse from St John’s Central College in 2014 and has been working in small animal practice since. Aoife is a real sucker for rescuing stray animals, and has hand reared a variety of different types- including a rabbit!! Aoife has already rescued and hand reared three kittens from the clinic since she started with us and we regularly have to talk her out of taking home more stray animals! Aoife is from Monaleen in Limerick, and has two dogs, a Labrador called Kermit and a Bichon Frise, called Milo, and now three cats – Ronnie, Reg and Ed, and this list is evergrowing! Aoife is always on hand to offer any advice on looking after baby animals of all kinds! She’s a pro!
Sarah is originally from Loughrea in Galway, but carried out her Veterinary Nursing degree in Dundalk Institute of Technology and graduated in 2012. Once qualified, Sarah worked in a small animal clinic in Dundalk and an equine hospital in Kildare before deciding to further her small animal nursing experience by joining Treaty Vets in 2013. Although Sarah loves living in Limerick, she misses her two cats Koren and Lily who still live at home in Loghrea! Sarah now lives in Limerick with her boyfriend, Cathal, but likes to spend her time off visiting home. Sarah loves to travel and recently visited Iceland and enjoyed safari trip in South Africa! Sarah loves dealing with our clients and their pets, and is always on hand to offer preventative healthcare and behavioural advice for new puppies and kittens! If you have a new pet, pop in to meet Sarah at the clinic.
Amie is from Newcastle West and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from Athlone Institute of Technology in 2008 before joining our clinic in 2009.
Amie and her husband, Nigel, got married in 2015 and Amie recently returned to work after maternity leave after having a gorgeous baby girl, Ivy! The Redmonds are living in Sixmilebridge with their two cats, Ebony and Maci, who Amie hand reared after they were abandoned at the clinic. Amie is known as “ Speedy Gonzales” in the clinic, as she tends to carry out all her tasks in top speed and very efficiently! Her upbeat and friendly personality make her very popular with our regular visitors! Amie has a particular interest in Radiology and loves spending her days taking X-rays.
Caroline hails from Ayre, in Scotland, but moved to Limerick in 2005 after meeting a lovely Tipp man, Cioran, while travelling the world! Caroline joined Treaty Vets in 2007 and began studying Veterinary Nursing in 2009 in St Johns Central College in Cork, and qualified with distinction in 2011. Caroline very much enjoys inpatient care and her caring and gentle approach provides a stress free and relaxed experience for all our patients at Treaty Vets. Caroline’s caring attitude continues at home, and over the years she has rescued four rescue dogs- Buddy, Louis and Matilda, all of who were mistreated cases needing intensive nursing care, and thanks to Caroline have returned to full health! This year, Caroline also added two rescue cats to the family, named Brawl & Wednesday! Caroline and Cioran got married in 2012, and they now have a 3 year old daughter, Annabelle. They recently added a shetland pony called Carrots to their collection of pets! We try to keep Caroline hidden away in the clinic in an attempt to stop her from rescuing any more animals!!
Karen joined the Treaty Team in 2002 and carried out her training with us while studying in UCD. Karen graduated from UCD in 2006 and remained at Treaty before leaving for Australia for one year, where she gained valuable experience working in a referral hospital in Sydney. Karen returned to Treaty and began a postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2010 at Harper Adams University and travelled over and back to the UK for two years before qualifying in 2012. Karen also has a certificate in small animal hydrotherapy, and has spent the last few years working between Cork, Limerick & Galway as a hydrotherapist and physiotherapist. Karen and her husband, John, got married this year and they live in Dooradoyle with their 3 rescue dogs- Lucy, Toby and Ted and two rescue cats, Jacob and Puck, who Karen hand reared from just a day old. Karen and John enjoy spending time with their animals but also love to travel. Karen also enjoys horse riding and has two horses, Cali and Molly. Veterinary Physiotherapy has proven to be hugely beneficial to our patients at Treaty, particularly elderly pets and those recovering from orthopaedic surgery. Karen is available for Physiotherapy appointments in our Limerick Clinic
Tracy qualified as a veterinary nurse from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, London, in 1995, and was the first Veterinary Nurse to join our team in 1996! Tracy is also a qualified Pet Health Counsellor and specialises in Small Animal Nutrition. She holds our popular regular weight management clinics and routine healthcare clinics specifically for geriatric dogs and cats. Tracy is also in charge in managing our large nursing team and keeps them all in line! Tracy and her husband, Rob, got married in 2012 and live in Sixmilebridge with their cat, Harry, who they rescued from Treaty, and their dogs, Olive and Ethel, both of whom were rescued from the dog pound. They both enjoy the outdoors and Olive has climbed many a mountain with Tracy and Rob! Tracy and Rob also love to travel and spent a few weeks on their honeymoon travelling around Canada. If you have a dog struggling to shed a few pounds, or an elderly pet in need of a check over, then Tracy’s your girl!
